DISABLING INTERNET EXPLORER in WINDOWS XP

To disable Internet Explorer in WINDOWS XP modifications must be made to the REGISTRY
EDITOR. Incorrectly modifying the Registry Editor can cause serious problems so
the following list of instructions must be followed exactly. Failure to do so may
require that the XP Operating System be re-installed.

1.	Click START
2.	Click RUN
3.	Type REGEDIT
4.	Expand the registry by clicking the + symbol to the left of the following folders
in the registry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
	Software
		Microsoft
			Internet Explorer

5.	Right click INTERNET EXPLORER
6.	Left click PERMISSIONS
7.	Under the Security Tab, HIGHLIGHT each individual user in the top window
8.	Click the DENY check box in the bottom window for each user
9.	Click APPLY when all users have been denied access
10.	Click OK
11.	Reboot the machine
12.	Verify that all Internet Explorer icons are disabled

Failure to follow the above instructions EXACTLY may require that the XP Operating
System be re-installed. Do not change any other settings in the Registry Editor.

Modify the Registry Editor at your own risk!
