For those who cannot get the other fixes to work try this.
Install SpySweeper v.4.5
Go into options, then the sweep options tab
enable sweeping for rootkits
run a full scan
if you get any "potentially rootkit masked files" check them and remove them.
One of them will probably be a .sys file. Do a search in the registry for that file,
backup the key just in case and then remove the whole key.
SpySweeper will need to reboot to finish cleaning.
Worked for me, the main file I believe was hidetui1.exe and ftd1mdxx.sys. Hope this
helps.
