I assume you have also run full system scans with up-to-date AV and anti-malware
tools, in safe mode to the extent possible, using procedures such as at this webpage:
--> http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/1113091578
Otherwise it may take a manual examination of the registry entires at and within:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum
plus a manual search for suspect files and folders identified at sites such as
these (especially the 2nd one):
--> http://www.norton.com/avcenter/venc/data/spyware.apropos.html
--> http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/spyware.apropos.c.html
I don't know everything you have done, so I'm hesitant to post more detail as
I don't want to waste time, but if you want more detail than what I just gave, post
back.
