Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at 5:42 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by jcw (5125 messages posted) From my reading, there are - not unsurprisingly - variations of Apropos, and the one that "AproposFix" (authored by "swandog46") supposedly handles, at least to get Device Manager showing devices, is a beast, using rootkit techniques. I suspect that we may not have seen the end of it either - more variations on the horizon? One post down from yours in this thread, you'll see that poster "F15hii" has run AproposFix and still has no operative device manager. I've held off posting the compilation I mentioned, as I want to see what comes of F15hii's situation. Not encouraging.
