This is fixed with PowerToys for XP, TweakUI->My Computer->AutoPlay->Types->Enable Autoplay for CD and DVD drives (uncheck) and it works, of course it would be nice to have DVD drives popup the dvd player and regular cds to NOT open the window, but i'll choose to disable all to prevent the later from happening.
