To all,
I have also run into this problem. I cannot access a single web site. It is a secure
web site, but I can access other secure sites with no problem.
I have 2 computers networked at home, and I can access the web site via another computer
using IE.
On my main computer, IE returns page not found. I can use Firefox to access the
site, but the site is written to work with IE, and as a result certain functions
do not work with Firefox. So, I need to get IE working. I am running Windows XP
Home Edition.
Some key points:
- Ran an SFC /Scannow to restore original windows files.
- Then updated to the latest Windows updates.
- There is no appearance of the link in "Hosts".
- ran in Safe Mode and still no success.
- windows firewall is OFF.
- disabled Spysweeper ... no affect.
- updated to the latest JAVA files .... no affect.
All the Tech primes I have talked to are stumped. Any Ideas anyone.
Many Thanks,
Jeff
