It's s'posed to be the most serious thing ever. Apparently, unregistering that DLL file doesn't protect you like they first though. You may as well get your thumbnails back. I installed the unofficial patch a couple days ago, but there will be many variants of it. Plus, a rootkit can be installed on your system. According to Sans, the M$ patch hasn't caused any problems.
