Since a few days ago whenever I load Internet Explorer I get this http://files/Internet%20Explorer/iexplore.exe instead of my homepage and I can't use Notepad anymore. Other forums recomend amending Registry key " hkey_classes_root\exefile\shell\open\command\ default to "%1" %* (apparently some program or trojan had amended it to %1 %*) I used regedit and opened Hkey_classes to the place indicated and right clicked on the default key and chose "modify" and made the amendment. But I must be doing something wrong because, although the amendment is recorded it goes back to what it was when I close the registry editor. This is the forst time i tried to do this thing - what should I do before closing the registry editor to save the amendment?
