Powerpoint is part of MS Office, not a necessary part, I don't think

Whether the PPS viewer is a Slideshow viewer or not, it's possible that newer versions
of Powerpoint might have a changed file format. I think that any owner of the current
Office version, whatever it is (my newest is Office 2000), has a copy of the current
viewer, but it also should be an available download from Microsoft.
I haven't installed Powerpoint since a friend of mine was in the throes of an Amway
delusion, and was making up a different slide show about Amway every other week,
but constantly asking me to fine tune them for him . . the slide shows from that
program were literally ubiquitous around many offices a few years back. It might've
been a neat thing at first, but its gets stale quickly, and the program really hardly
offered anything new after it made the switch from 16 Bit to 32 Bit.
I suppose that if someone around here (and annoyances has way too large a contingent
of prudish old womenish sorts hanging around, of both sexes) wanted to be ugly, Powerpoint
was never part of any MS OS, so it's not exactly on topic here. But you don't have
the program, and I've just recommended you not waste time with it.
