If we were all so wrong to post these hugely varied answers, how is it ok for you
to post this ridiculous fix that will clearly only be available to a handful of people
that happen to have the same BIOS manufacturer and version??
You are an idiot, really.
There have been many solutions, all of which are worth trying. For me, personally,
installing an old HD seemed to do the trick, though I did flash my BIOS as well,
as I was unable to install Windows at one point (on ANY hd) because it told me my
BIOS was not ACPI compliant, supporting that whole route of solutions...
Good luck all, this one is a bastard to fix, it really is!! I have no idea what
causes this. I DID install a new keyboard just over a week ago, which seemed totally
inconsequential while I was fixing this. I have now used a PS/2 converter to connect
to my machine...
