re: Question about 'When I choose ''Shut Down'' from the Start Menu, my computer restarts instead of shutting down' Thursday, January 26, 2006 at 3:18 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by marc (1 messages posted) I just solved this as well, the person who's computer had this problem had an audio card installed 2 weeks before it started going wrong(why it took 2 weeks to go wrong is a mystery 2 me) but all i did was disable onboard audio at the BIOS (hit F2 or DEL at startup to get to BIOS) and it works perfectly now.
