I believe I've found an answer. Oddly enough, the problem lies in the fact that
you must double-click to open Explorer-based files. If you go into your "My Computer"
folder, go to "Tools" and then "Folder Options," pick "Single-click to open an item."
Every file on your computer now acts like a hyperlink, as opposed to double-clicking.
I changed it about ten minutes ago as an experiment, and it seems to be holding
for now...
