After fruitless months of 98 freezing up, I decided to break down and get XP. I could not properly install it. So I decided on a clean 98.. It too, failing to load. So I went to the microsoft site out of frustration and they have a nice clean utility that check your RAM to make sure it's not your system over loading. I'll post the link to save on searching; http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp .It runs at boot just follow the instructions. I found one of my RAM cards bad, removed it and loaded XP on just two of them. Replaced the bad card later.
