It will burn cds just fine but will not burn dvds. It is a I/O Magic brand Magicspin dual format dvd burner that uses standard Windows XP drivers. It is plugged into the secondary ide controler as the only device and is set to master. Windows XP shows the device as working properly and it shows up in my computer, but when I try to burn a dvd it gives me the error message that the disk is not writeable or it is full. I have tried using Roxio burning software and I get an error message there too. My computer came with a CD burner/DVD Rom that I unplugged from the system. I am using Imation 8x blank dvds and I think the drive could be 4x could this be the problem? Thanks for any help you can give.
