Thanks Mark, other error message cropped up each time I closed an appplication. similar
to the first or concerning floating point stack. I visited Microsoft andf found loads
of explanations but too technical to be of any real help.Ran Adaware and it found
nothing. Inthe end I shut down the PC and forgot it for a couple of hours. On reboot,
the problem had gone, no further messages. Thanks for your help JF
