Is the drive recognized in device manager at all? If it shows up there uninstall
it and reboot. If it is not recognized there is it detected from the BIOS? You might
try switching the master, slave jumpers around and also switching the drives locations
on the IDE plugs. Some drives are just picky as to which wants to be master and slave.
Are you using an 80 wire IDE cable? Sometimes upgrades will cause problems and you
may have to do a clean install instead.
