Now it sounds like the hard drive controller. Check the device manager and make sure
you have a primary and secondary controller. Also if you have an Intel based board,
you HAVE to install the ".inf" files for proper recognition by XP. If you have a
VIA, Nvidia etc. you also need to install the "chipset" drivers so XP can converse
properly with the system board.
