Explorer.exe crashes when I open a second folder.

I can open one folder with no problem. But if I close that folder and try to open
a folder, Explorer.exe crashes. Or, if I leave the first folder open and try to
open a new Explorer window... Explorer.exe crashes. Of course, in typical Explorer.exe
fashion, it reopens itself after crashing.
I am running Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 2. Before updating to Service
pack 2, I had this problem. Before that, I refused to update because I had problems
with SP2, the previous time it was installed. Still, I got this problem while I
was running SP1, and so I updated to SP2 a couple of months ago (a couple of days
after this problem started). I have been keeping up-to-date with Windows Update.
I have occasionally checked for new information on this problem and have succeeded
in finding nothing.
"AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: yt.dll
ModVer: 2005.11.4.1 Offset: 0000ddca"
"Exception Information
Code: 0xc0000005 Flags: 0x00000000 [eight 0's]
Record: 0x0000000000000000 [sixteen 0's] Address: 0x000000006290ddca"
I have had this problem for a while, and have been unable to find a source of information
on solving it... so, I gave up for a while. But this is a horribly-irritating problem.
I have scanned with updated versions of Ewido several times and have been unable
to put a dent in this problem of mine.
I am running a 1.69 GHz Pentium 4, with 512mb SDRAM (although I had the problem back
when I had 256mb SDRAM). I have drivers for a few video cards installed on this
machine (but I don't think that they were there when this problem first started happening);
when the problem started, I was using a Nvidia RIVA TNT2 model 64 (32 big megabytes)--now
I am running a Radeon 9600xt (128/128). I have one 80 (or so) gigabyte hard drive,
divided into a 17.5 partition (C:\) and a 65.1gb partition (D:\)... I know that doesn't
add up well... but this is the information that Windows gives me about my HDD size.
I don't know what of that information is useful (I don't know what good it can do
me to provide you with my video card), but I'm hoping that something I say will help
me get helped. This is a horrible problem.
(...I am well aware of the mediocrity of my PC. If I had money, I would most definitely
have one from AFTER 2001. Laugh all you like; I laugh too.)
