How do you start Windows using the CD? I 've accidently removed the file that is responsible for system start up!

I found an adware on my computer which was in the file "smss.exe" located in the
"system 32" folder. I removed it from the folder and restarted the computer so that
I could then delete it. But then Windows wouldn't start up! It gave me a blue screen
with an error message, then restarted again and this was happening in cycles. I tried
reparing Windows, and it just froze in the middle of the instalation. I don't want
to compleatly re-install Windows since it'll delete the My Documents folder. Is it
possible to start Windows from the CD so that I can move that file back to its original
folder (I moved it out to the desktop before restarting)?
