jcw - thank you for your response.
I am running windows xp home sp2.
My computer is not s server.
AOL starts up and gets all the way to checking the password. From there AOL drops
off due to Norton Anti-Virus closing the offending program (AOL) due to what it says
is a worm attack on the Veritas Netbackup Shared Library BO.
The desktop computer is not showing any other 'mis-behaviour'.
I have done a complete scan of the computer using the latest Norton Live Update software
(up until the time I couldn't get on the internet - two days ago.) As a note the
Norton AV scans the computer every other day. The results of the AV scan turnined
up nothing unusual.
I have checked the sites you recommended, problem is I don't see anything explicitly
names windows xp home pertaining to the 'fix'.
Thanks,
wmckce.
Thanks for all you work - really like this site, el Jefe10.
