Is the second partitioned/formatted?

Go to disk management (run diskmgmt.msc) - if it is formatted, it may not have a 
drive letter assigned (so wouldn't appear in explorer). You can assign one here. 
If it isn't partitioned/formatted, you can do that here also.

If it is formatted, with a drive letter, have you got XP's tweakui installed? (this 
has a feature allowing you to hide/unhide drives in explorer). If not, download & 
install it (google to find), and see if you can unhide it this way.
