They only work to disable certain types of media from playing automatically. They do not disable the Autorun feature of the CD-ROM drive entirely, which is what you need to do if you want to stop CD-ROM's from autostarting install programs and the like. To fully disable the Autorun feature, you must edit your registry and change the CD-ROM's Autorun value from 1 to 0. If you are not sure how to modify your registy entries, don't worry. It's really quite simple.
