I am having the same problem and have been on this puter for hours trying to fix
it. I was really happy to see this thread. i followed all the steps with regedit
and went through until i was stumped at the following part:
Return to Overview

"overview" where is this? when i click on run msiexec.exe
a list of parameters appears.
Also what do you mean by "register the Msiexec.exe fiile?

by the way, i am also having the following problem when i attempt to download spybot.....know
anything about this:
error 12029 from wininet.dll...........it is an error I get when i get to the installation
process. It downloads fine, goes through the motions until I go to install at last
step.
