I have a comment/question about My extra-cool DOS game won't run under Windows:

A response indicated that it is rare to find a DOS game that will run under windows XP. Well, I have one that does. It is a Star Reach game, which I still enjoy very much. It will run, and I can play the game. The problem is that sometimes, (usually when having a lot of action going on,) the game will freeze or close out completely. Very aggrivating when I'm on a charge to victory. The answer also said to boot from the a boot disc. If I create an XP boot disc, are you saying that I might be advised to shut down and reboot using this disc, and then type/call up the game's exe file? Will a boot disc load a safe mode, limited windows version or DOS prompt? How can I create the required boot disc? I need to use the keyboard and mouse to play the game. No cd rom needed. The game is on the harddrive, with an icon created on the desktop. Icon properties memory tab has all memory options set to auto. Star Reach does not need any conventional memory, and can run without any memory manager at all. How is the manager disabled? Can I make this game play well via a properly set boot disc?
