Thanks for that. I tried FVM 1 and 2 and they worked, but with some problems. I got
in touch with the author of the scripts, Keith Miller, and he gave me a link to the
new version of the script that worked brilliantly. Finally, a solution to this ridiculous
problem!!
Here is Keith's blurb about FVM3 and the link to download it:
"Version 3 of FVM is a vast improvement over the other two. Rather than having to
open & close each subfolder to set the view, I finally figured out how to set inheritance
for the parent folder. This means I only have to open the selected folder, set its
inherited view, and then delete any existing saved views under that folder. Any
subfolder takes on those view settings the first time it is opened, and, better yet,
the custom setting is applied to any new subfolders created. I really recommend
you download it and opt for clearing all existing settings. It doesn't take hardly
any time at all, no matter how many subfolders, to set major hierarchies to your
