Hi I have a problem with having my internet staying on for more than a few minutes
or more at a time, I use a wireless SMC 2635W card with an SMC 7004VWBR barricade
router. I just installed windows xp on a new hard drive I've switched over to the
NFTS file system with Windows XP pro SP2, and all of a sudden this crap happens the
internet going in and out. So I tried installing the latest drivers for my wireless
card but haha when the computer rebooted it didn't work. So I un-installed it and
went back to the old driver which still went in and out. If I un-installed the utility
that it came with it left me unable to get it to log in after it sudden dropped the
connection. So I installed the utility again so that atleast I could reconnect my
internet. Well I didn't have any problems before, I had windows xp sp1, everything
worked fine. Although this is good because I'm learning more about how my router
works and the options I have with it. My wireless card is indeed a pcmcia card,
I updated the firmware in my router now I am going to try updating my driver again
to see if that will work but damn the internet is staying connected for a longer
period of time now. I would love anyone who could fill me in some more on what's
happening. Thanks, feel free to email me.
