Login as Administrator (no password unless you assigned one) by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del
twice at the login window. If that works then you can create a new user. Once you've
done that, login as the new user and see if it's okay. If it is follow the directions
here to copy data from the old, corrupted user to the new user.

Once you are satisfied all is well with the new user, delete the old, corrupted one.
