Where did my SATA go?

I just replaced my mobo today. The old one had PRI and SEC SATA connectors and SATA1
and SATA2 connectors. I had 2 80 GB drives on the PRI and SEC connections and they
worked as one large drive. The new board has SATA 0-3 connectors. I hooked the
drives up to 0 and 1 and they show up as IDE drives in the BIOS. They do not show
up in XP explorer at all. They do show up in the device manager though. I seem
to remember there was something I had to do in XP to make it recognize the drives
on the old board but I cant remember what it was. What are the odds that I will
retain the data that was on them?
