Partition Magic now owned by Symantec is well known to trash the drive that contains your Windows install especially if it is NTFS. FAT 32 doesn't seem to present the same problem. You really need to slave the drive into another machine (or add another drive into your system) and use recovery software to try and rescue your data. It most often takes a professional recovery program to do it in this case. Then you will probably have to repartition and reinstall.. When dealing with NTFS or a recovery partition installed by a computer manufacturer, this is a more common outcome and mistake by most users, leaving you with a big problem.. :-(
