I thought your startups may give you a clue, since it pops up on startup also. You mentioned deleting a folder while a program was in use. Windows won't let you delete anything that's in use, normally. Especially since you use a P2P program, it's possible you picked up something you don't want. I'd run an online virus scan, at least.
