re: sound device error (WINMM WDM Audio Compatibility Driver code 38) Monday, April 17, 2006 at 5:28 am Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by steven (1 messages posted) Hi all i have had no sound problems for 2 months now.My problem is that my windows audio would not stsrt in services.I copied the audiodll file to system32,but that did not work.This morning i found a site http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/top10faqs.htm go onto this site and click where did my sound go then click on the word here this will fix the problem.Then shut down and restart pc.You might need to uninstall and reinstall drivers after.I hope this helps you all as it has taken me ages to sort out and i wanted to share it with you all, Kind Reguards, Steve.
