I purchased a used dell laptop from a private party. When I try to do windows update, the tool alerts me that it's not a legal copy. How can I get around this problem? Can Microsoft issue a new key if I explain my delimma. If they make me buy a new copy, which is fine by me, how can register the new key without having to reinstall system? I'm trying to avoid going through the reinstall process and yet comply with the rules.
