I did find it annoying until i right clicked it and checked the "Hide When Minimzed" option. Now when i minimize outlook, it disspears into that icon, i have always had outlook this way. Its odd that there isn't a setting to remove it if you don't want it though. Mabye there is a registry key somewhere.
