I have a couple Computers for Video Editing, I use removable Hard Drive Drawers in the 5 1/2 inch Bays, each Computer has 2 Drawers, that allows you to remove Hard Drives endlessly. XP seems to count the Control Card that the Drives Hook up to, and not the Drives themselves for it's Hardware profile. Windows Messenger is pretty easy to disable. A few thousand Web sites redundantly post the procedures to disable it. It can be disabled, or just uninstalled.
