I found a fix for people who cannot figure what is causing the explorer window to
open. (I've had this problem a thousand times and never got stuck on it till now.)
This allows the window to open, then kills it for you.
I used this cool little freeware utility called nircmd.exe (available at http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html).
I then made a batch file and placed it in the allusers/startmenu/startup folder.
I just put "nircmd.exe win close class "CabinetWClass"" in the batch file. If it
doesn't work try "nircmd.exe win close class "exploreWClass"" instead. Now when windows
starts, there is a quick flash of the explorer window opening and then this batchfile
pops up really quick and kills the explorer window and all is fine.
