Unfortunately... this didn't work for me.
It still hangs at "Windows is shutting down"
Infact, it CLICKS, i can hear it, as if it is going to shutoff, but it doesnt.
When I bring it up in SAFE MODE, i can shut down fine.
RESTART does not work either.
I've tried shutting down every app and process except for the Winxp main ones, still,
it hangs on shutdown.
I've tried a new profile, with minimal apps, still, wont shutdown.
I've tried updating the registry entry of powerdownshutdown (or something like that)
from 0 to 1. Still wont shutdown.
The only thing that turns off the machine is Power switch.
When I go into BIOS, it says APCI is ENABLED
But in POWER OPTIONS on the Winxp, there is no APM (not sure if that makes a difference).
Either way..... i'm still sitting at square one.
sigh.
