I have this same problem with 4 computers, I have tried all the above solutions with
no resolution. I spent 6 days trying to figure out this problem and came up with
the following fix.
Boot into safe mode and turn off prefetch. it is located here in the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters change the EnablePrefetcher DWord
to 0
Hope this helps out some of you. my systems were hanging up on this prefetch file
NTOSBOOT-B00DFAAD.pf
if you delete it in safe mode it will then allow you to boot up normally until the
system recreates the file.
