I don't know the purpose of the "My eBooks" folder, and neither do the people at Adobe. I know a method that gets rid of the "My eBooks" folder and every other Acrobat annoyance, including its ultra-slow startup due to its loading of a million plugins that nobody ever uses. My method always works. Guaranteed. 1) Open the add/remove programs control panel, highlight the Adobe Reader entry, and click "remove." 2) Go to www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php and download Foxit PDF Reader. 3) Install Foxit, open a couple of PDFs, and ask yourself why you didn't flush Adobe Reader down the toilet years ago.
