XP "save" or "Save as" ICONS?

I'm suffering similar problems in windows rememebering folder format - the most annoying is that some or most applications give me an ICON or THUMBNAIL view of the folder when I do a save or save-as. Any thoughts where THIS is coming from? I will research further to see if it is dependent upon the format of the FOLDER, 99% of which I want "details view", and a couple (menu-like ones) I want as thumbnails. Thanks! "WardXmodem"
