Ok folks, I am really stuped here. Obviously, as you all can tell, I ran into the
Mup.sys hangup. Below is an outline of my system configuration. This is a new set
up! All components purchaced brand new (newegg.com).
I am using an Official WinXP SP2 disk with an offical/leagal key. But, since I am
in need of SATA/RAID drivers, I have created a clone CD which includes the drivers,
with the program nLite (aside from the drivers there is no change!).
Initally, everything was going well, installing XP using RAID 0. After the GUI poition
of the install, the system restarts and proceeds to begin to load windows, but I
recive a quick BSOD flash, followed by a system restart. Try again in safe mode,
and as you know, it hangs at Mup.sys.
I figure it was a simple corruption during install, so I reinstall XP, with a full
formating, and get the same problem. I try installing windows 3 more times on each
of the drives on their own, all with the same problem.
I run windows recover console, use chkdsk to check all three disks, all with no errors.
I use my trusty Memtest86 disk to test my memory, no problem.
I tried a diffrent Windows install disk, disableing MUP in the recovery console,
"repairing" the windows instal (the one where it recopies the system files and everything).
I tried the "ren system system.bak" command set refferred to above. I used my BIOS
option to clear the NVRAM. Used the "CMOS Reset" button on my mother borad. Removed
the CMOS battery for a few hours.
All of this, with no results!
I have NO USB devices connected, I even tried disabling all the USB controllers.
The onlying connected to the system, and ever connected, is a PS/2 keyboard and
a VGA Monitor.
Any and all help is appreciated. I hope to get this running soon, becaus I cant
wait to use my new system.
