WOW thanks!!
After having this issue on several different occasions after reformatting, i learnt
to live with this problem for the last year. By downloading what you said (the adaptec
site has been updated, but you can just go to www.adaptec.com and look for aspichk
which is also included if you you download the latest aspi driver 4.712). my discs
are now autoloading again. however, only the names and not the icons change. But
this is a major advancement none the less. So in conclusion thanks Paddy!!!
