Well, in theory anyway. Been there, done that. It will appear as if it won't work. What you need to do is 'fake' most of the information about the previous owner, e.g. Name: "not known", Phone: (555) 555-5555, Zip-code: 11111 and so on. In the end you need the Service Tag AND the Express Service Code. Both is on the body of the laptop somewhere. If not, call the Service Centre and explain your situation. If you are nice to them, they will be nice to you (it's the nature of the Indian culture)...
