I had the exact same experience as you - same "might not have permission" message - same unhelpful help message referring to non-existant tabs under "network connections". Managed to access a friend's laptop successfully, through our wireless connection though he couldn't access either of our computers and got the same message. We compared set-ups on all the menus and submenus relating to networks and couldn't find any differences. I have been working on this non stop for a week now. There must be a straightforward solution to this. - We haven't done anything non-standard on either of the computers! ANY help would be appreciated.
