Well, you cannot have WinXP Repair console fix the MBR if it doesn't find the disk.
Your problem needs to be fixed in the BIOS or with a utility disk from the HDD manufacturer.
Different BIOSs have different setups. You have to browse the BIOS setup screens
to see if there is an item for SATA setup. The other thing to check in the BIOS is
the order of startup devices.
I have mine set to: 1. Floppy, 2.CD, 3.SATA, 4.IDE
If you have a dedicated Seagate disk utility disk, it should have a few test functions
and an MBR fix/replace option.
