You can pretty well throw away all your Dos and Windows 9X utilities. Of course, if you have Linux (Knoppix ), that's good too. I've seen individuals to rescue/fix dead XP from Knoppix. Personally, I'm nervous on using non-Windows NT (2000/XP) based tools to write anaything to NTFS. If you are going to a write anything to an NTFS drive, a Windows PE tool is your safest bet because it uses the same i386 XP system files.
