i have been experiencing all the same problems mentioned above, with the exception
of the router, i have a netgear wireless router.
all my settings are the same as before i started tampering with this issue.
my fix was this:
because i have Windows Live OneCare installed -
1. view or change settings
2. Firewall Tab
3. Advance settings
4. Advanced Tab
Sharing and connections
If my files and printers are shared, treat them as follows
change from:
5. Do not share files and printers
to:
6. Only share them with computers on my local network
now i am able to see shares on my XP Pro system "from" my XP Home system.
i have yet to test the other direction!
