VERY EASY. You're going into the repair console too early. Simply don't elect for "REPAIR" at that stage, carry on and click "install windows", THEN press F8 (ie accept the agreement, then you'll be given the opportunity to REPAIR on the next page. No administrator password is required. You will have to use the Product key, though. Do understand, though, that Reapir often doesn't work. It might be best to use Windows Install Clean Up (you can download it from Microsoft.com) and first make sure that you don't have any conflicting registry entries. PCSurgeon's registry check is reasonably good and not too aggressive in chpping out registry entries. You might try that after running Windows Install Cean Up. (But only do this if you have a working knowledge of registries. (it can be a bit of a minefield, if it's not used properly). Hope this helps, Ian PS, if all this fails - copy all your downloaded executable files and documents to another hard drive and fully re-install Windows - you can do this without re-formatting the C drive. It's not really a big deal and virtually guarantees that all the rubbish which is clogging up your computer is removed.
