Mine are gone for good, because I use
XP Lite
In XP Lite, you simply uncheck the "Default My Pictures" box in the Accessories column
(as shown on the page I linked you to).
Some photo programs may not like it when the default
My Pictures folder is not there. Years ago, when I used 98 Lite to remove the My
Documents shell extension, PhotoSuite III would not even START! (you couldn't change
its default start location from " (My Docs location) - My Documents - My Pictures",
even from the Registry!!)
If you can adjust the default opening location of your photo programs (to where your
photos are) before removing the Default My Pictures folder, you SHOULD be good to
go...
