After trying all methods listed in this huge thread I have not gotten any closer
to fixing my "No Audio Device" problem. Any other ideas are welcome. My situation:
I have the onboard AC97 device from dell, installs just fine but "No Audio Device"
is present for WAV functions, midi works fine.
I have tried different versions of the drivers...
I had my PNP s. enumerator, but I uninstalled it and removed it from the registry
and reinstalled it just fine to no avail...
I have even does a recovery install of windows XP Pro (not pirated - from dell) with
little change in the situation.
I have no restore point to go back to as it happened years ago before I was even
asked to fix this issue.
My last resort is to completely format and try again but I would rather not do that.
If anyone has any more suggestions that would be grand, thanks in advance.
