question 1 - why move from AVG to Avast? AVG has smallest footprint (ie, it clogs
your machine less than an other AV) and best AV detection rate.
question 2. if you're using XP - presumably service pack 2 - why have you other third
part firewalls - xp with sp2 has its own perfectly good one.
